Dr. Dre’s 20-year-old son, Andre Romelle Young Jr., has died in Los Angeles.
Young Jr. was found unresponsive by his mother at their home in Woodland Hills, California, on Saturday. She called paramedics, who responded to the scene. After their efforts to revive him failed, he was pronounced dead.
“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr.,” Dre’s publicist Lori Earl said in a statement.
It took four months to determine the cause of death due to pending drug test results. Young died from an overdose of heroin and morphine.
The rapper Hood Surgeon, real name Curtis Young, is the brother of the late Young Jr.
